The Northshore School District’s Wall of Honor Committee this year has added two names with strong ties to our Foundation. They are among 20 honorees who since 2010 have had an impact on the success of the Foundation.
New honorees are Joanne Harkonen and Terri Malinowski. Our congratulations to both.
Joanne served many years as our Scholarship Program Coordinator and in earlier days, with her husband Dave, provided the Bothell Faculty Scholarship to a Bothell graduate.
Terri was public information director for the school district after being News Editor and columnist of the Northshore Citizen. With her friend Dorothy Marston, they sponsored a Communications Scholarship in memory of her son Jon and husband Paul Malinowski and Ted Marston.
Also among those named to the Wall of Honor are Foundation President Melissa Arias (in 2021) and Scholarship Program Coordinator B-Z Davis (in 2015). Former Scholarship Program Coordinator Sally Barnum offers a scholarship as a memorial to her husband honoree Eric Barnum (in 2018) who served as Foundation President.
The committee will conduct public ceremonies at Pop Keeney Stadium August 18 to introduce all of the 2022 selections.
The Wall of Honor was created to recognize the outstanding achievements of Northshore School District alumni, staff and volunteers who have made significant contributions to our community, state, nation or world. The wall was unveiled on September 15, 2010 at the north end of Pop Keeney Stadium in Bothell.
We’ll recognize our remaining 15 honorees in a forthcoming Newsletter extra and reveal each honoree’s connection with the scholarship program.
TUESDAY, MAY 3 is the day you can help the Foundation raise funds to award four $5,000 Northshore Community Scholarships in 2023.
